Virtual Flash Mentoring

As part of the HKUST United program, we are offering a Flash Mentoring series for students and fresh grads to gain advice and support from our experienced alumni.

What is Flash Mentoring?

As the student or fresh grad, you will have a short amount of time to virtually meet the alum in the field or organization that you are interested inThis is a great way to efficiently get answers and advice for specific questions. This low-commitment approach allows you to explore multiple industries while having the chance to speak to mentors from different walks of life

Why Flash Mentoring?

The opportunity to meet alumni in your desired industry can help you better understand about a particular industry, organization or role. Flash mentoring can give you insights and help you research and prepare for interviews or job applicationsThis could also be a chance to expand your connections through the alumni’s networks and develop long-term mentorships.

What to expect for Virtual Flash Mentoring?

This one-hour virtual group meeting will allow you to have a 7-minute one-on-one session with the mentor, while the remaining time will include networking time with other students or fresh grads. The intimate setting of 2 to 5 mentees in the networking session will give you a chance to sharpersonal experience and tips on a common topic.

What to prepare for the virtual meeting?

In order to get the most out of this short and quick mentoring experience,

  • It’s important to have a clear objective and goal in mind.
